Yes, you read that right, you can get free books! Goodreads offers a Goodreads giveaway program in which you can enter to receive a free book in exchange for a truthful review of the book. I don’t know about you but reading and pushing my opinions on people is just my thing. (haha)

First of all, you need to create a Goodreads account, which is free. Next go to the Goodreads Giveaways page and start entering the contests.

Tips and Tricks for Using Goodreads Giveaways

A few things I’ve discovered to note in my searches:

  1. Make sure to enter your age in your profile since some books are 18 and older
  2. The tags on the right-hand side do not seem to work so well, so searching by category is not the best way. Keep reading below to see the best way to search for books.
  3. You can see how many people entered the giveaway and how many books are being given. Granted if there is one book and 1000 people your chances are low. I’ve been clicking on giveaways that are giving at leat 10 books.
  4. Yes, they do give away children’s books. (Yay for homeschoolers!)
  5. Make sure to go to the recently added tab since new Giveaways are always being added. (I’d love to see some Minecraft books.)

The Only Good Way to Search (read this)

The Best Way To Search is to first go to the category from your Goodreads homepage, and then scroll down to Giveaways.

For example, if you are looking for Children’s books, you first want to go to the Children’s category in Goodreads. Then scroll down to the middle of the page to Giveaways and click more Giveaways. This will take you to all the Children’s books in Giveaways.

I don’t know why the tags don’t work this way from the Giveaways main page,  but there you go. No more endless scrolling.
